Glenguin Estate  www.glenguinestate.com.au

Broke - Fordwich

Glenguin Estate was first planted in 1988 and is close to the village of Broke in the Hunter Valley, home of Australia's two oldest wine styles made from Semillon and Shiraz. These two varieties form the backbone of our small range complemented by small plantings of Tannat, Viognier and Chardonnay.

The vines at Glenguin average 15 years with a small plot of 50 year old vines in Pokolbin. We are as organic as possible in that we don't use pesticides and we maintain a permanent sod culture between the vines.

Glenguin Estate was established by the Tedder family and Robin Tedder is one of Australia's 15 qualified Masters of Wine. Robin is assisted in the vineyard by viticulturist Klaus Hahn and in the winery by consulting oenologist Rhys Eather.

In a world of simple fruity wines made in industrial quantities the Tedder family sets out to demonstrate that, with low yields of fruit from hand tended vines, it is possible to make exciting balanced wines that speak of whence they came. Wines that are mouthwatering to drink and complementary with food.

Meerea Park  www.meereapark.com.au

Pokolbin

Meerea Park is owned by Rhys and Garth Eather and we handcraft our wines using cutting edge winemaking techniques and philosophy from some of the Hunter Valley's oldest and best vineyard sites.

We are Hunter Valley "terroirists"; specializing in individual vineyard Semillon and Shiraz, sourced from unique vineyard sites, each being quite different, the wines expressing clearly where they are from.

We seek out the oldest vineyards we can for our Shiraz and Semillon fruit that have a track record for producing the best possible fruit in both good and not so good vintages.

Winemaker, Rhys Eather is a Roseworthy (Adelaide University) graduate in Wine Science and has gained international winemaking experience in France and Italy. Spending the 1998 vintage at M. Chapoutier in the Rhone Valley gave Rhys the experience and insight required to craft top quality Rhone styled wines, which he openly admits as to having a great passion for. Rhys has also completed two vintages in Italy (Puglia and Piedmonte) rounding out his international winemaking experience.

Meerea Park, while taking a modern approach to winemaking, can trace our winemaking roots in the Hunter Valley back to the 1850's when Alexander Munro, our great-great-grandfather established the 'Bebeah' vineyard at Singleton and was at one stage the largest and most successful winemaker in New South Wales. During his winemaking career he amassed over 2000 awards at wine shows around the world.

All of our labels bear the image of an ornate drinking fountain and gas street lamp that Alexander Munro commissioned, had made in Scotland and then shipped to Singleton in the Hunter Valley. When he retired as Singleton's first mayor he gave it to the municipality where it was erected in George Street adjacent the Caledonian Hotel which he owned.

Meerea Park has established a reputation over the last decade as one of the leading wine producers in the Hunter Valley winning at least one Gold medal at every Hunter Valley wine show since 2002, a feat only enjoyed by a handful of Hunter Valley producers.

We have also enjoyed consistent wine show success at national and international level and received a multitude of  accolades emphasizing high quality and exceptional value for money for our range of wines.

Postcode Wines  www.postcodewines.com.au

The POSTCODE concept was devised in early 2007 with the first wines released in early 2008. POSTCODE is a new label for Meerea Park Wines, based in Pokolbin.

The POSTCODE label allows Meerea Park to become a specialist Hunter Valley producer, while also being able to dabble in other varieties and styles of wine not easily produced from the Hunter Valley. With Rhys Eather as the winemaker, POSTCODE will be able to deliver the same innovation and quality Meerea Park has become known for.

The philosophy is to make wines from both established and emerging regions that show unique regional and varietal characters. These wines will be from single regions and on many occasions single vineyards, hence the us being able to give them a POSTCODE designation.
